ATAPI Schedule for this course

1 Day Course

This course covers the attachment of CD and DVD and tape devices to the ATA bus using the ATAPI protocol. This interface has emerged as the hands-down winner in the battle for how to connect CD and DVD into PCs. Students should already understand the basic ATA interface. (The IDE/ATA, The Nuts &  Bolts course is excellent preparation.) In this course, you will learn how the ATA interface is modified to deliver SCSI-type commands to new classes of peripherals. To better understand command functions, an introduction to CD, CD-R, CD-RW, and DVD technologies is also provided as well.
