Head Disk Interface Basics Schedule for this course

½ Day Course

The exponential increase in disk drive storage capacity has only been possible by positioning (flying) the read/write heads closer to the disk. Typical head-disk separation is now about 1 to 2 micro-inches. This course provides an overview of the technology and challenges of reliably managing the head disk interface.
