Media Manufacturing Basics Schedule for this course

½ Day Course

This course walks you through the process of building a disk for use in today's disk drives. This course follows the production of a disk, step by step, from stamped aluminum blank to finished state-of-the-art magnetic media. Each of the process steps and the equipment used to accomplish them are covered. The course also covers how the process changes for alternative substrates (such as glass). Participants who already have a basic understanding of how a disk drive functions will get the most from this class. The Disk Drive Basics class is excellent preparation.
