½ Day Course
Get a glimpse into how disk drives are arrayed together to provide enterprise and server storage system solutions. This half-day class explores the requirements of data storage for computer networks, and how those requirements have led to development of SAN (Storage Area Networks) and NAS (network Attached Storage). The course provides an introduction to the building blocks used to construct storage systems such as RAID, Fibre Channel, and Fabric Switches. No previous knowledge of networks or storage systems is assumed. However, a general familiarity with computer storage (such as from having taken Disk Drive Basics) would be helpful.
