3 Day Course
This course offers a comprehensive presentation of parallel SCSI, covering software, firmware, hardware, and all the other aspects of SCSI.
It provides not only a functional understanding of the SCSI specification, but also in-depth, practical, up-to-date information designed to optimize your SCSI related efforts.
Crucial features such as defect management, command queuing, messages, mode pages, and signal interactions are thoroughly examined and explained.
The course manual has been derived from years of real-world experience and features flowcharts, practical scenarios, working algorithms, and explanatory text.
Students will gain a firm foundation in parallel SCSI, as well as valuable insights needed to master this complex subject.
Based on our highly successful Hands-On SCSI, this demo class for SCSI, The Nuts & Bolts uses SCSI Host Bus Adapters, disk drives and an analyzer to lead the student through SCSI command execution, SCSI Phases, feature negotiation (wide/narrow, synchronous and PPR features) and feature execution.
A boot sequence can be observed and analyzed.
Also, a Target Tester will be used to show the sequence of control signals during individual phases.
Demonstrations will be adjusted to place emphasis where it will best meet the needs of the students.
