Terry Shrader: HDDT (Hybrid-Disk Drive Technology), Perpendicular Technology, DDT
Terry Shrader has over three decades of experience with data storage. His resumé includes tenure with some of the pioneering giants of the disk drive industry: Applied Magnetics Corp (AMC) and ISS in the 1970s, Shugart and Associates and Quantum during the 80s, and more recently with Syquest and Read-Rite in the 90s. Mr. Shrader has designed heads and media for use in disk drives, managed teams doing head and media design, established and managed reliability testing labs, and most recently served as Director of Quality Assurance for Read-Rite Corp. During his 8 years at Read-Rite he was heavily involved in all aspects of head development and manufacturing and spent a great deal of time in the off-shore factories that assemble and test both HGAs and HSAs. Mr. Shrader holds BSEE and MSEE degrees from UC Santa Barbara and has presented a variety of classes on subjects dealing with the data storage industry.

Dennis Moore: SAS (Serial Attached SCSI), SATA (Serial ATA)
Dennis Moore has been a KnowledgeTek instructor specializing in interface training for more than fifteen years. KnowledgeTek, through Dennis Moore and Hugh Curley, was the first interface training company to offer SATA and SAS instruction. KnowledgeTek led the industry by more than one year in each case. Due to Dennis Moore's continuous participation in the ANSI T10 and T11 standards committees, KnowledgeTek was able to develop what are considered the most advanced training classes in these areas. In addition to exclusively training with KnowledgeTek, Dennis Moore is also the founder and principal of IOI Consulting, and performs independent consulting services specializing in the design of SAS and SATA interface products. With more than 30 years of experience ranging from desktop to mainframe applications, he brings extensive expertise to bear at all levels of I/O interfaces. Dennis Moore has held both technical and managerial positions in engineering and customer service during his career, and as such has participated in the development, improvement and modification of devices utilizing these ever-changing interfaces. Through continuous participation in the ANSI T10 and T11 standards committees, Dennis' involvement guarantees the KnowledgeTek classes are the most up-to-date and timely in the industry. Dennis' students comment frequently on the depth and breadth of his knowledge, his patience in answering questions, and his insight into client problem-solving in areas suggested during classroom presentations.
